Hyrox race prep and periodization

How an event date shapes your training block, session rotation, and when to adapt your plan.

When you add a race or event date during setup, Fyvra periodizes your Hyrox block — adjusting session types and emphasis as race day approaches.

Training phases

With a date set, your block moves through aerobic base, build, peak hybrid work, and a race taper in the final weeks.

Without a date, Fyvra uses a general prep rotation — still mixing runs and hybrid stations, without taper-specific sessions.

How sessions change

Further from race day, weeks emphasise easy running and hybrid station volume to build capacity.

Closer to the event, expect more tempo work, compromised bricks, and race simulation sessions that mimic race-day demands.

If you train two or three days per week, Fyvra compacts the rotation while keeping run and station balance.

Meals and recovery

Food targets follow your training load for the week you are viewing. Harder hybrid blocks may show higher calories or carbs on training days.

Adapting your Hyrox block on Pro

Use Update plan in Ask Fyvra to adjust your block — for example add an extra easy run, reduce station volume during taper, or swap a session when travel disrupts your week.

Name the day and direction of change. Example: Add a 25-minute easy run on Tuesday before my hybrid session.

Training edits let you choose Apply from this week or next week. Next week keeps this week's logged work tied to the plan you trained on.
